AGC is pleased to share the list of 2020 student competition award winners! Dr. Clayton Whitesides makes the announcement in the video below. A hearty congratulations to all our participants, and an extra "way to go" to our awesome award winners!

​The Applied Geography Conference is pleased to announce its annual Student Paper Competition and Student Poster Competition. Student presentations in the form of either papers or posters emphasizing the application of empirically based research to human and environmental problem solving are welcome.

Both our student paper and poster competitions have the following award packages:

• First Place: $300 Cash Prize, and a Certificate of Achievement
• Second Place: $150 Cash Prize, and a Certificate of Achievement
• Third Place: $50 Cash Prize, and a Certificate of Achievement

To participate in either the paper or poster competition:

• Please visit the AGC 2020 abstract submission portal to submit your competition abstract
• When submitting your abstract at this portal, be sure to select the “Student Competition Entry” option.
• Only abstracts that are identified as student competition entries will be entered in our student competitions.
• All student competition submissions must be the original work of the student presenter.

Paper and poster presentations will be evaluated on the following criteria:

1. Papers:
   1. Research Flow
   2. Content
   3. Presentation
   4. Stimulates Interest
2. Posters:
   1. Research Flow
   2. Overall Display
   3. Technical Aspects
   4. Stimulates Interest 

Paper and Poster abstracts must be submitted to the portal by August 31, 2020.
