The AGX Board was pleased to have the Applied Geography community join us in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 25th through the 28th for our first conference back in person.
Specific conference features included:
  • As usual, a wide range of stimulating paper and panel session opportunities that brought together practitioners and researchers from across the spectrum of applied geography.
  • Another great student competition opportunity for students to display their geospatial skills and knowledge
  • Our signature reception networking events, providing an excellent chance for conference attendees to build new collaborations and meet old friends.

We also want to note that the conference journal, Papers in Applied Geography, welcomes contributions from registered attendees of AGX 2023. Upon submitting your manuscripts, please mention your attendance to the conference in the cover letter to receive expedited handling of reviews of your manuscripts. All subfields of applied geography will be considered.

Conference Location and Lodging Information
The conference was held at the Drury Plaza Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. The conference committee loved this wonderful postmodern renovated hotel which was originally the federal reserve bank. The hotel was walking distance from Pittsburgh Union Station as well as a wide variety of restaurants, entertainment, as well as the Allegheny River, giving participants plenty of options in their downtime!
