Our Emeritus Board Members

Dr. Murray Rice - Professor | Department of Geography and the Environment | University of North Texas

Dr. Murray Rice is an educator and researcher in the field of location intelligence. He specializes in research related to connections between business strategy, entrepreneurship, and urban change, and in teaching on topics that link geography, businesses, and cities.
Dr. Rice has published 36 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has written numerous book chapters and editorials. He has also provided consulting services to business, government, and non-profit organizations focused on the application of geoanalytics to a wide range of problems.
Dr. Rice has also contributed to the discipline of geography more broadly by serving as executive director for the Applied Geography Conference (now AGX), chair of the AAG Business Geography Specialty Group, and chair of the Southwest Division of the AAG. He is currently executive director emeritus of AGX and professor and director of undergraduate studies in the Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
