REGISTRATION AND CALL FOR ABSTRACTS


Abstract submissions for AGX 2025 are due October 13, 2025 at 11:59 PM Central Time.
We welcome proposals for papers and panels from practitioners and researchers across all areas of applied geography. Join us in St. Louis, Missouri, October 22–24, for four days of sessions, a student competition, and signature networking receptions. Submit your abstract today.

Attending the Conference
AGX – A Community of Applied Geographers is committed to creating an event that builds community and fosters interaction and collaboration among conference participants. We encourage conference attendees to participate as fully as possible in the conference, attending as many sessions as possible, being available for follow-up conversations after presenting, and sharing with and learning from one another.
AGX strives to make our conferences as affordable as possible to attract, and enable attendance for, as many in the applied geography community as possible, whether students, faculty, or public and private sector professionals. Please contact AGX officers and conference planners if you would like to attend but are concerned about the cost of registration.

  1. Following the link above will direct you to Indico, our Conference platform host.
  2. Every new AGX event requires participants to create new account – Previous AGX Conference attendees must create new accounts for AGX2025.
  3. This landing page will serve as the hub for your registration, submissions, the conference agenda and other relevant information related to the meeting.
  4. Please contact AGX Conference Administrators through this site.
  5. Once you have registered check your email account for messages from either [email protected] or [email protected]
Emails may be pushed to your junk/spam or quarantine folder based on your institution's settings. Please check those folders if you do not see confirmation and other email from us.                                                                               

REGISTRATION COSTS AND PAYMENT PORTAL

Professional/Faculty: $175
Student: $75
Family /Friend social event guest (entry to Meals, and Social Hours): $50
You will be directed to our PayPal link at the end of the registration form.


ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS

Session and submission types include
1. Paper Presentation 
  • If part of a prearranged organized session, please provide the exact title of the session and the full name of the session organizer(s).
  • Session organizers: You are responsible for coordinating with all prospective presenters for your proposed session. Instruct all presenters to include the session title and your name (as the organizer) when they complete their individual abstract submission forms. 
2. Poster Presentation
  • Poster dimensions: width, 48 inches; height, 36 inches. 
    What makes a great poster display?
  • Use a light-colored background with dark letters
  • Be succinct – What are your main points? What is the most important message related to each of your learning objectives?
  • Use pictures and graphs instead of text in paragraphs when possible
  • Use borders, colored headings, and/or “white space” to visually divide sections

  • Organizers: Please provide a complete list of all panel participants with email addresses.

  • Please indicate any specific logistical or technical requirements for conducting the workshop (e.g., audio-visual equipment, room setup, software needs).
     
NOTICE
1. You must bring your own laptop/tablet (and an adapter if you do not have HDMI or VGA ports). Session organizers and participants: we encourage connecting with each other and coordinating laptop/tablet logistics in advance of the conference.

2. Participants will learn a great deal at this conference in a short amount of time, so handouts are a helpful way for individuals to reflect on what they have learned. We suggest you bring copies of your handouts to the conference presentation or upload your handouts to your session listing.  If interested in sharing your presentation, more information on how to upload and share will be available at the conference.
CANCELLATIONS
Paper and poster presenters: If you are unable to present, please let us know so we can make appropriate programming decisions before conference sessions are organized and the conference program is assembled. If you need to cancel AFTER the program is assembled, please let us know as soon as possible so we can inform the other participants.
