AGX (formerly the Applied Geography Conference) is seeking nominations for one graduate student and one undergraduate student to serve as a non-voting member on our board. We are searching for motivated individuals who have a passion for serving the Applied Geography community and are excited to participate in re-branding and re-organization of our organization. As AGX continues to grow and develop, we are looking for individuals with unique perspectives to offer additional perspectives in ways we can continue to improve our organization.
AGX exists to promote the application of geographic insights and analysis in all areas of society. Our annual conference is an opportunity for practitioners, academics, and students to share research and application ideas. Our peer-reviewed journal, Papers in Applied Geography, is the conference's flagship publication, featuring research and commentary from across the breadth of applied geography.
We are seeking students currently enrolled in a university undergraduate or graduate program who are passionate about student involvement in professional and academic organizations and who will bring ideas about ways to increase the reach and impact of AGX. We hope to find students interested in assisting in creating outreach and educational material specifically related to connecting to other students, including (but not limited to) organizing sessions during our annual conference targeting our student attendees and assisting with the creation of outreach material (webinars, research talks, etc.) to connect with our student members.
To be considered for a board position, we ask that you send the following information to [email protected]:
We are accepting nominations until April 1st, 2022. Please e-mail [email protected] if you have any questions.
